You sit on the curved mosaic benches under the vaulted ceiling, the steam settles around you, and you leave the day behind. ### Relaxation room Between the sauna and the steam room you stretch out on a lounger with a mat, by the stone wall, with soft music and gentle coloured light. See them below, nearest first: from the museum 100 m away to the ski slopes at Beklemeto. ### The village and its hot spring - Around the hotel Chiflik is a quiet village near Troyan, known for the beautiful countryside around it and for its hot spring, found years ago. The hotel is in the village centre, behind the chitalishte (community hall). Our own pool has warm water, but not mineral water. There are plenty of places to walk in the countryside around the village. ### The children's playground - 50 m from the hotel Just outside the hotel there is a big, new and modern children's playground. The children have room to play, and you are only a few steps away. ### The Hanche museum - 100 m from the hotel The museum stands in the centre of the village. The house has been preserved since 1876, when the revolutionary Todor Kableshkov and his band were captured and brought to the inn. They were held here for two nights before being taken to the prison in Lovech. The interior is remarkably well preserved and shows how people lived at the time. Entry is free and everyone is welcome. ### The ‘Road to the Edelweiss’ eco-trail - 2 km from the hotel The eco-trail (По пътя към еделвайса) starts at the edge of Chiflik and climbs towards the Central Balkan National Park. The route rises from 870 to 1,600 m above sea level, with several routes of different difficulty. Near the Haydushka Pesen hut is the spot where Todor Kableshkov was captured. ### The Haydushka Pesen hut - 3 km from the hotel The hut (Хайдушка песен, ‘haidut song’) stands at the foot of the Kozya Stena reserve, near where the Rogacheva and Kamacharska rivers meet. You can drive there on an asphalt road, or walk. It opened in 1964 in memory of Todor Kableshkov and his companions, who were captured or killed nearby in 1876. Their monument is about a 15-minute walk through the forest. From here, marked trails lead to the Kozya Stena hut (about 3 hours) and the Eho hut (about 4½ hours). ### Troyan Monastery - Near Oreshak, 10 km from Troyan Troyan Monastery is the third largest in Bulgaria. It stands on the bank of the Cherni Osam river near the village of Oreshak, 10 km from Troyan. It was founded around 1600, possibly earlier. Legend tells of monks from Mount Athos travelling to Wallachia with the monastery's treasure, the miracle-working icon of the Virgin Troeruchitsa (‘of the Three Hands’). It is a copy of the old miracle-working icon at Hilandar Monastery, from the 14th century. ### The Skoka waterfall - 25 km from the hotel The waterfall (Скока, ‘the leap’) is on the Lopushnitsa river, about 2 km from the village of Kaleytsa, on the far side of Troyan. You leave the car almost beside it, and a short walk along the path brings you to the deep pool below the falls. The path crosses the river on stones, so wear shoes with a good grip. Above the falls there are tables and benches for a picnic, with the sound of the water below. The waterfall is fullest in spring, and in summer the water in the pool stays cold. ### Natural History Museum, Cherni Osam - 10 min by car The museum was founded in 1956 by a local biology teacher, Iliya Hristov, and his pupils. In 1977 the collection moved to a specially adapted building, and in 1992 it became a natural history museum. Its three halls hold more than 700 mounted animals from the forests, peaks and rivers of Stara Planina. The interactive hall is a highlight: as you walk past the exhibits, you hear the calls and songs of mammals, reptiles and birds. ### The Arch of Freedom - 15 km from the hotel Near the Troyan pass, on Goraltepe peak (1,595 m), about 15 minutes east of the highest point of the Beklemeto pass, stands the Arch of Freedom. The massive concrete arch is 35 m high and is dedicated to the Russian and Soviet liberators. A narrow asphalt road leads up from the southern side of the ridge. To the north you see the Beli Osam and Troyan valleys; to the south, Sredna Gora, the Rhodopes and Rila; and to the east and west the best-known peaks of Stara Planina, Botev among them. ### Skiing and winter walks - 10–20 km from the hotel The mountains around are good for hikes in winter and summer, west towards Kozya Stena, Haydushka Pesen, Eho and Vezhen peak. Massages: according to the price list. Please ask at reception for more information. ### Accommodation Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is by 12:00. Prices are in euros (€), per room or apartment, and include the night, breakfast, use of the pool and the jacuzzi or of the spa centre according to the season and during their opening hours, Wi‑Fi, parking, tourist tax and VAT. On public holidays our holiday packages and their terms apply. An extra bed can go in every room and apartment except the economy rooms and the family room; in the double rooms, the triple room and the one-bedroom apartment it takes the place of a baby cot, not both. Pets are not allowed. Children under 2: free of charge. A baby cot is available: €10 for the whole stay (in every room and apartment except the economy rooms). Extra beds and baby cots are limited in number and are booked with your room or apartment. Children aged 2 to 10 on an extra bed: €15 for the first night and €8 for each night after. The economy rooms take neither an extra bed nor a baby cot. An adult or a child from 11 on an extra bed: €25 a night. Prices for companies and group gatherings are subject to individual negotiation. ### Booking and payment You book on the site: you choose the dates and the accommodation, enter your details and accept these terms and conditions. You can also book by phone (+359 884 615 302) or by email (hotel@chiflikhills.com). After booking you receive an email with its details. When you book, you pay a deposit of 50% of the price of the stay. The rest is paid on arrival. - By card: you pay the deposit on the card payment provider's secure payment page; your card details never reach the hotel. While you pay, your booking is held for you; if the payment is not completed, the booking expires by itself and the dates are released. - By bank transfer: the deposit must arrive within 24 hours. If it does not, the booking is cancelled automatically and the dates are released. We confirm the booking as soon as we see the payment. ### Cancellation You can cancel your booking yourself through the link in the emails you receive about it, or by contacting us. [to follow: the cancellation terms, after the lawyer's review] ### Right of withdrawal The right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days does not apply to accommodation services where the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance (Article 57 of the Bulgarian Consumer Protection Act; Article 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU). A booking for specific dates can therefore be ended only under the cancellation terms above. ### Complaints and disputes If something is not right during your stay, tell us at reception so we can put it right at once. You can also make a complaint in writing to hotel@chiflikhills.com or at the hotel's address. If we cannot agree, you can turn to the Commission for Consumer Protection ([kzp.bg](https://kzp.bg/)) and ask for the dispute to be heard by one of its conciliation commissions ([how to ask for one](https://kzp.bg/bg/kak-da-poiskam-formirane-pomiritelna-komisiya), in Bulgarian). The conciliation commissions help consumers and traders reach an agreement voluntarily and out of court; a dispute is heard once you have first turned to us.
