What the hotel is

A small family-run hotel with a restaurant and a spa in the village of Chiflik, near Troyan, in the foothills of the Central Balkan range, beside the Beli Osam river. It has 8 kinds of rooms and apartments, 9 rooms and apartments in all. It is quiet here, and the building and its grounds have a lot of stone, wood and iron, as in a traditional Bulgarian house.

The guests who feel most at home here are families with children, middle-aged families and older couples. We also welcome groups, for team-building days, birthdays, weddings and other celebrations; the price is agreed individually.

• use of the outdoor warm pool (32°C), 09:00 to 19:30, from 16 May to 30 September;
• use of the jacuzzi beside the pool (35°C), 09:00 to 19:30, from 20 April to 20 October, weather permitting;
• use of the spa centre (Finnish sauna 95°C, steam room 40°C, relaxation room; 16:00 – 19:00), from 1 October to 15 May.
• Now: the season of the spa centre.
• Outside its opening hours the spa can be booked for private use, at extra cost.
• Massages: from the price list, at reception.

Restaurant

• The restaurant serves traditional Bulgarian cooking and is for hotel guests only.
• Buffet breakfast: 08:00 – 10:00, included in the price.

Children and extra beds

• Children under 2 stay free; a baby cot is €10 for the whole stay.
• A child aged 2 to 10 on an extra bed: €15 for the first night and €8 for each night after.
• An adult or a child from 11 on an extra bed: €25 a night.
• The double rooms, the triple room and the one-bedroom apartment take an extra bed or a baby cot, one or the other; the two-bedroom and the deluxe apartment take both; the family room a cot only; the economy rooms neither. The hotel has a limited number of them.
• The Family Room is for two adults and one child up to 10.

Payment and deposit

• A deposit of 50% of the price is paid when you book; the balance is paid on arrival.

What the hotel does not have

Some websites and listings get these wrong. This is correct:

• The pool's water is warm (32°C); it is not a mineral or thermal pool.
• There is no indoor pool. The pool and the jacuzzi are outdoors and not open all year: the pool only from 16 May to 30 September, the jacuzzi from 20 April to 20 October, weather permitting.
• The jacuzzi is outdoors, beside the pool, with water at 35°C; there is no jacuzzi in the rooms or apartments.
• The spa centre is closed from 16 May to 30 September.
• The restaurant is not open to the public: it is for hotel guests only.
• There is no conference hall.
• The price includes breakfast; dinner is from the menu and paid separately, unless a holiday package includes it.
